A CMI EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
Departmental Associations and Clubs
In addition to professional chapters, the department also nurtures student-driven platforms such as the Carmel Civil Engineering Association (CCEASON) and the BIM Club. These associations organize technical talks, design competitions, project exhibitions, cultural programs, and community outreach initiatives. They serve as vibrant forums for students to develop leadership, teamwork, creativity, and communication skills, while also promoting social responsibility and lifelong learning. Together, these associations and clubs provide a holistic environment that complements academic studies and prepares students for meaningful contributions to the profession and society.
CCEASON
CCEASON (Carmel Civil Engineering Association) is the official student association of the Civil Engineering Department at Carmel College of Engineering and Technology. Established to serve as a platform for students to connect, collaborate, and share ideas, the association encourages interaction, exchange of knowledge, and exposure to both academic and practical aspects of civil engineering. Through its activities, CCEASON provides opportunities for students to organize and participate in technical seminars, workshops, expert talks, and discussions on emerging trends in the field.
The association places strong emphasis on enhancing not only the technical competence of its members but also their soft skills, leadership qualities, and overall personal development. By conducting industry-oriented events, technical fests, and student-led initiatives, CCEASON bridges the gap between classroom learning and real-world application. It also promotes awareness of sustainable practices and the latest innovations in civil engineering, equipping students to meet professional challenges with confidence and creativity.
CCEASON was formally inaugurated on 16th March 2017 by Er. T. Rajendran, Chief Project Manager, HLL Lifecare (GOI), Hubli, Karnataka, and former Chief Engineer, Kerala Water Authority (KWA). Since its inception, the association has grown into a vibrant student community, organizing annual events, industrial visits, design competitions, and observances of national and international engineering-related days. Through these initiatives, CCEASON continues to nurture technical excellence, teamwork, and professional ethics, preparing its members to contribute meaningfully to the engineering profession and society at large.
BIM Club
BIM Club is envisaged to create awareness and interest in the concept of Building Information Modelling (BIM) among the students. Along with the Tech Fest of the Department of Civil Engineering, STRUCTA 2025, BIM Club was inaugurated on 10th March 2025. During the Inauguration, Faculty Advisor Dr Kannan C Bhanu published the names of six student coordinators for the academic year 2024 -2025 and also informed regarding the willingness of the firm Eurosia to mentor BIM Club.
