The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of Blockchain and its real-world applications. Participants engaged in a hands-on session using Ganache and MetaMask, where they learned how blockchain networks operate and how transactions are managed in a decentralized environment. As part of the practical demonstration, a blockchain-based voting application was developed and demonstrated using Solidity smart contracts. Students were able to understand how smart contracts enable secure, transparent, and tamper-proof voting systems. The interactive workshop provided valuable exposure to decentralized applications and modern blockchain development tools.
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Carmel College of Engineering & Technology organized an **IoT Workshop** on 11 March 2026 at Computer Lab 3. The session focused on introducing students to the fundamentals of the Internet of Things (IoT) through a hands-on activity on LED blinking using IoT hardware and programming. The resource persons were from from Mega Solutions. During the session, participants were guided through the basics of IoT architecture, microcontroller interfacing, and practical implementation using development boards. Students learned how to control an LED remotely through code, demonstrating the core concept of connecting physical devices to the internet. The interactive hands-on session helped students gain practical exposure to IoT development, embedded programming, and real-time device control, thereby strengthening their understanding of smart systems and connected technologies.
