A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a formal agreement between two or more parties. Companies and organizations use MoUs to establish official partnerships.
The MoU is intended to recognize the general basis for a cooperative and collaborative working relationship between the two parties. The purpose of MoU is to have mutual intentions to jointly work on projects required for industries and research needs, with learned faculty of good industrial experience and promising students, jointly agree to exchange their expertise for mutual benefit and growth through Industrial Visit, Guest Lectures, Projects, Internships, Establishing advanced labs.
Internships offer students a hands-on opportunity to work in their desired field. They learn how their course of study applies to the real world and build a valuable experience that makes them stronger candidates for jobs after graduation. An internship can be an excellent way to “try out” a certain career. In academic aspects internships also count towards course credit. Internships or training can also be done to gain activity points under KTU. Students attend a minimum of five days internship program at various organizations.
It is important to regularize organizing of Workshops & Seminars. It will help students to understand the dynamics of a specific field of Engineering and develop a thorough mindset as well a technical know-how to bring a significant change in the field. Hence, we at Carmel College of Engineering and Technology know exactly how industry-oriented Workshops & seminars with hands-on experience on emerging technologies, different perspectives of various engineering discipline can be developed as a culture within our institution to make it easier for the students to take advantage of this industry preview.
Whatsoever you do to the least of my people, you do it unto me (Mathew 25: 40). This verse from the scripture reminds us of our social responsibility. Keeping this in mind, the Carmel College of Engineering and Technology, Punnapra has organized the Societal Outreach Programme with the objectives of providing services to the society. As an educational institution, our Outreach activities supports and provide services to the society, with new innovative projects.
On 27th January 2021, Containment Zone Tracking and Temperature Detection System is launched by Mr. A.M Arif ( Member of Parliament). The motive of CTDS is for conducting the university examinations by adhering to the Covid19 protocols. This socially committed project was implemented by our mechanical students Adarsh Suresh, Justin Jose, K Kiran, S. Vishnu under the guidance of Mr. Rahul R, Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering department and Mr. Anoop R S, HOD, Computer Science and Engineering department.

CCET provides ample opportunity motivation to our students to study themselves. The college has an active NPTEL local chapter with LC ID:2182 from 2018. NPTEL has been offering self-study courses across engineering, humanities, and science streams for more than a decade. These are available at: http://nptel.ac.in. Since March 2014 NPTEL has been offering online certification for its courses, the highlight being the certification exam through which the student gets an opportunity to earn a certificate from the IITs! These are available at: https://swayam.gov.in/NPTEL.
The college maintains a dedicated server with the NPTEL video repository so that our students can access the NPTEL recorded videos any time anywhere. NPTEL local chapter of the college conducts motivation and orientation classes for the students to make enroll in the course. Every semester, more than 100 students are registering NPTEL course and more than 70% of them are getting certificates.
There is a single point of contact (SPOC) from the college, who will be managing all the problems with course registrations, fee concessions, and examination enrolment. Our SPOC, Er. Anoop R.S. was awarded the Active SPOC by NPTEL last year.
